Retail Sales & Marketing Manager

Job Type: Full-time : Based out of Kanata Office

Annual Salary:  $38,000 - $45,000 | 40 hrs / Week

As the Retail Sales & Marketing Manager at Calabogie Brewing Company you will be creating and implementing digital marketing strategies to grow the Calabogie Brand. You will also provide professional level support to the Retail Sales channels including the LCBO, The Beer Store and Grocery Stores throughout Ontario. Reporting to the General Manager - you will be responsible for tracking ad performance and retails sales across various channels alongside maintaining, creating and refining marketing initiatives.

 

Summary of Essential Job Functions

Digital Marketing

Digital Merchandising & Maintenance of the Home Delivery Portal (Shopify) ensuring pricing and beer availability is accurate.  
CRM Management using Mailchimp to create and optimize email marketing initiatives.  
Maintenance of Email Lists: importing subscribers, unsubscribes and managing bounces
Create & Implement Digital Marketing Campaigns on various platforms including (Google Ads, Social Media, Email) to grow brand awareness. 
Composing, scheduling and posting online content for the company’s social media page and website.
Writing marketing literature for company brochures and press releases.
Communicate regularly with internal departments
Any other duties as assigned

 

TBS, LCBO, Grocery : Retail admin

Work with Management to implement Retail Beer and Promotional Strategies
Manage product submissions through all retail channels
Work with LCBO, and TBS, and Grocery online systems
Process and maintain all customer product listings in all segments, including authorizations and price changes
Maintenance & Market research - Dig This Data
Daily upload of current retails sale to Dig This Data
Store by store and beer style management
Work directly with sales team to ensure sales optimization
Review competitor and market pricing on a regular basis 
Promotion submission &  tracking
Pricing audit and research
Style and trend analysis
Review customer pricing and promotion schedules/forms/deal sheets
Provide promotional forecasting for production planning 

 

Position Requirements

Must have the ability to work effectively in a team.
Excellent professional communication and organization skills & ability to work independently.
Excellent knowledge of Windows-based programs – specifically Excel / Google Sheets
Attention to detail – articulate and thorough.
Analytical, logical thinker.
In-depth knowledge of marketing techniques and databases.
Proficient in MS Office, Adobe CC and Google Cloud.
Knowledge of CRM tools including, Google Services, Mailchimp and Facebook Ads.
Understanding of advanced Marketing Principles.
Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.

Craft Beer Delivery Driver

Job Type: Part Time
Expected start date: July 2021
Salary: $16.00 per hour

 

The qualified employee must possess a minimum of the skills, knowledge and experience outlined below. In addition, the applicant must be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities while completing the probationary period of employment. The incumbent will report directly to the General Manager. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, respect for the customer, and the ability to work in a high paced environment is key to success in this position. The Delivery Driver position is an hourly position.

  • Collects payment for deliveries and ensures proper documentation of monies
  • Checks all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
  • Maintains logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
  • Completes all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.
  • Operates vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures regarding the delivery of goods
  • Performs periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure
  • Ensures that beer is properly protected from the outdoor elements

Brewer

Brewers are responsible for the beer in all aspects of the brewing process. They work closely with the cellaring, packaging, and QA teams to ensure the highest quality beer possible. They are also responsible for ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Brew and Package beer according to brew schedule.

  • Always keep the brewing facility clean and functional.

  • Follow Cleaning & Maintenance Schedules and perform all required cleaning to the appropriate standard.

  • Clean tanks, Brewhouse, kegs, pins, packaging line and other equipment.

  • Assist Sr. Brewer with inventory management and inventory counts specifically of finished beer, grain, hops, and other raw material inventory.

  • Monitor quality, flavor and carbonation of serving beers in the Tap Room/Tasting Room, Packaging, and throughout brewing process.

  • Responsible for tank transfers and record keeping of Bright Beer Tank levels.

  • Monitor gravity, temperature, and pH throughout the brewing process and keep accurate records.

  • Work with the QA department to perform cell count and viability tests to pitch yeast accordingly.

  • Work with the packaging department to can and keg beer as necessary.

  • Participate in taste panels and actively try to improve tasting abilities.

  • Help develop SOPs and continual improvement initiatives.

Experience and Requirements

  • A brewing diploma from an accredited brewing school is an asset

  • 1+ years of brewing experience at a production brewery

  • Passionate for high quality craft beer

  • Quality focused individual with experience working in a fast-paced environment

  • Organized and hard worker

  • A solid mechanical understanding

  • Must be able to work shift work and weekends when required

  • Must be able to lift 100lbs and stand for long periods of time

  • Continual moving, lifting, and manipulation of hoses, buckets, pumps, and other parts that require extended standing, lifting, crouching, and walking throughout shift

Assistant Brewer/Cellar Person

The assistant brewer/cellar person (asst brewer) is responsible for carrying out all instructions as it pertains to brewing and cellaring provided by the Head Brewer. The scope of this position covers help with brewing as needed, filtering, transferring, racking, cleaning, packaging and any other general brewhouse work. Some beer delivery may be required if mandated by the head brewer or brewery operations manager. This role requires strong time management and organizational skills. It is also requiring extreme attention to detail and an open willingness to learn. This position reports directly to the Head Brewer

CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in all areas of brewing as mandated by Head brewer
  • Perform cellaring work to include but not limited to racking, filtration, tank clean.
  • Working within established S.O.P’s
  • Maintain records as required
  • Communicate with restaurant staff and management concerning what is available on tap
  • Assist with outside events and brewery tours as mandated by the Brewery Operations Manager
  • Maintaining a clean working environment which includes all brewery tanks and small wares

  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Brewer or Brewery Operations Manager

Sleeving Line Team Lead

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, the Sleeving Line Team Lead is responsible for the preparation, maintenance and operation of the can decorating process. They work closely with team members , to exceed customer quality expectations while ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times

  • Ensure compliance with company safety rules and policy.

  • Prepare, operate, and maintain all equipment related to can sleeving
